Reading Group: Schubert Varieties

Our reading will be focus on the theme of Schubert varieties. We plan to take detours to topics in intersection theory and linear algebraic groups. The three main texts are

1. Lecture Notes on Schubert Varieties by S. Billey,
2. 3264 and all that by D. Eisenbud and J. Harris,
3. Linear algebraic groups by J. E. Humphreys.

Some supplementary texts include

• Young Tableaux (Part III) by William Fulton.
• Introduction to Affine Group Schemes by William C. Waterhouse.
• Schubert geometry and combinatorics by A. Woo and A. Yong.
